Introducing After the Demo: The Consult JC Podcast
On 17 July 2026 we launched After the Demo, the official podcast from Consult JC.
Hosted by Christie Fourie and our CEO, Jordan Cohen, it is the conversation that starts after the screen sharing stops. A software demo shows you what a system can do. What happens next, the planning, the people and the change, decides whether it actually works for your business.
Here is what the podcast is about, what we have covered so far, and where to watch.
Why “After the Demo”?
Most technology decisions are made in a demo. Most technology projects succeed or fail long after it. In our work as a Zoho Premium Partner, we see the same thing again and again: the software is rarely the problem. The process, the people and the leadership around it are what make the difference.
After the Demo brings those conversations into the open. Each episode covers real business challenges, Zoho best practices, implementation insights, AI, automation and practical ways to get more value from your technology. It is made for business leaders who are evaluating Zoho, planning an implementation or looking to get more out of the systems they already have.
Episode 1: The 82% Problem
Our first episode tackles a widely quoted statistic: 82% of digital transformations fail. Jordan explains that the number is real, but it is an average of many different failure patterns. Your own project is not doomed to an 82% chance of failure. The good news is that you can spot the patterns early and plan around them.
Christie and Jordan walk through three of the most common patterns:
- Tech first, process after. A system is chosen for its features, or its price, before anyone maps how the team actually works. Months after go-live, a sales team that sells across regions and product lines finds the CRM only fits one process, and the software gets blamed. The fix is proper discovery with the process owners in the room.
- Champion-dependent failure. One person drives the whole project and holds all the knowledge. When they leave, nobody knows how the system works. Involve more people early, invest in training and documentation, and bring in extra internal champions from soft launch and user testing onwards.
- Technology before change management. The dashboards are built and working, but leaders go back to their spreadsheets. Treat adoption as its own project phase, give a leader ownership of it, and keep it on your meeting agenda.
Jordan closes with a simple exercise any leadership team can do for free: block 30 minutes at the start of your project, have each leader write down privately where they think it could fail, then compare notes. Where the answers overlap, you have found the risks to plan for.
Episode 2: Change Leadership vs. Change Management
Why do some transformations fail even when the change management plan is perfect? In episode 2, Christie and Jordan unpack the difference between change management and change leadership, and why successful transformation needs both. They work through three real-world scenarios, the “Wednesday afternoon test”, and how leaders can make change leadership measurable.
